How it works
A better way for operators to cover work.
Post the job you need covered
Enter the journey details. The passenger fare you agreed is not shown to other operators.
Verified operators quote
Other verified TfL-licensed operators decide what price they will cover the job for. Competing quotes stay private.
You choose the best quote
Review the cover quotes and choose the operator that works for you.
The job is covered
The winning operator accepts the job. The booking can then be fulfilled through the normal operator-to-operator cover process.
The original operator remains responsible for the passenger booking. Cab Exchange simply records the job and lets verified operators quote to cover it.
VAT is clear before you choose
If a quoting operator needs to charge VAT, it can tick Add VAT. Cab Exchange shows the base quote, VAT and total payable value so the posting operator can compare the real cost.
What Cab Exchange does — and doesn't do
Cab Exchange records the journey details, shows the opportunity to eligible operators and records their cover quotes and selection. It does not dispatch vehicles, employ drivers or collect the operator-to-operator payment.
Where a booking is subcontracted, the operators remain responsible for complying with the private-hire licensing, booking-record, passenger communication, data-protection, tax and contractual requirements that apply to them. Cab Exchange is the exchange used to find and agree cover; it does not replace those operator responsibilities.
